The Selection,’ an upcoming CW television show based on the novel by Kiera Cass, has found it’s King, Queen, and BA rebel leader! First, according to Deadline, Matrin Donovan (far left) and Leonor Varela (center) have joined the cast as Queen Amberly and King Clarkson, the parents of Prince Maxon (to be portrayed by Ethan Peck). Also, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Australian actress Peta Sergeant (right) has been cast “as a rebel leader who is working to overthrow the monarchy.” Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain are both writing and executive producing the drama, with Mark Piznarski of Gossip Girl and The Lying Game directing the pilot.

Plot Synopsis: Written by Elizabeth Craft & Sarah Fain and directed by Mark Piznarski, it centers on America Singer (Aimee Teegarden), a poor young woman who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to marry Prince Maxon (Ethan Peck) and become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads.
