As I anticipate the release of the final ‘Twilight Saga’ soundtrack, I’ve been listening to the first four movie soundtracks.  Each one has its feeling and emotion to it, but on every album there a few songs that stick out as my favorite.  Here are my top ten ‘The Twilight Saga’ soundtrack songs so far….

Honorable mention goes to ‘No Sound but the Wind’ by the Editors from the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack for making me yell “Dracula musical!” every time it comes on.

#10. ‘From Now On’ by The Features (‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’ soundtrack)
Music sets the tone for so many scenes and this song and the pace and the tone of this song is perfect from the first shot of Edward and Bella tensely playing chess until it cuts off right before Bella’s chess dream kicks in.

#9. ‘Monsters’ by Hurricane Bells (‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ soundtrack)
Could the ‘monsters’ be werewolves…or vampires or a guy with a beer and a bike?  This song plays as Bella drives to school on her birthday in the beginning of ‘New Moon’ and continues through Edward’s swagger to her side in the parking lot.

#8. ‘With You in My Head’ by UNKLE featuring The Black Angels (‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ soundtrack)
When it comes to Cullen family moments on film, there are several that are top of mind – the baseball scene in ‘Twilight,’ the wedding in ‘Part 1,’ and the fight training scene in ‘Eclipse’ during which this song plays.  There’s something seriously fun about this song that helps contribute to the amusement as Jasper lays down the rules for fighting.

#7. ‘Chop and Change’ by The Black Keys (‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ soundtrack)
Of all the soundtracks, ‘Eclipse’ is probably my favorite partly because it introduced me to Florence and the Machine and The Black Keys. The thunder, the rainy Summit Entertainment logo and the opening of this song set the mood for ‘Eclipse’ pulled me right into the film.

#6. ‘Hearing Damage’ by Thom Yorke (‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ soundtrack)
One of the best moments in the film ‘New Moon’ is when the wolves chase Victoria through the forest.  A lot happens in this scene besides the awesome shot of the crow, and this song scores the moment so well.

#5. ‘Never Think’ by Robert Pattinson (‘Twilight’ soundtrack)
Not only does he play Edward Cullen, but he also is a musician. Robert Pattinson was the first ‘Twilight’ cast member to appear on one of the film’s soundtracks, but he proved not to be the last. ‘Never Think’ plays during Edward and Bella’s first date and knowing that “Edward” is singing just makes it that much more romantic. Last month, me and two friends were sitting in Bella Italia in Port Angeles and this song came on. We all got really quite and looked at each other and were emotional Twihards for a few moments.

#4. ‘My Love’ by Sia (‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ soundtrack)
Everyone who knows me knows I am Team Carlisle, but this moment in ‘Eclipse’ seriously had me on ‘Team Edward’ for a scene. Here is what I wrote in my review of the movie when it came out: Although millions of girls and women swoon for Pattinson’s Edward Cullen, I had yet to be swayed until Eclipse. From the moment four-poster bed comes into view, Team Edward fans will be ecstatic with the resulting scene. Edward often edges on stalker behavior in his efforts to keep Bella safe, but his heartfelt marriage proposal in his bedroom made me want to jump to my feet and cheer when Bella said, “yes.” I don’t think anyone could say no to Pattinson’s Edward at that point. His emotions for Bella and the tenderness of his feelings had me near tears. The moment will also have every woman swooning when they hear Sia’s haunting “My Love” going forward.
I still swoon today!

#3. ‘Full Moon’ by The Black Ghosts (‘Twilight’ soundtrack)
The opening title of ‘Twilight’ wouldn’t be as memorable without ‘Full Moon.’  I love the tribal and haunting about it that sets the tone for the movie. I still get excited every time I see that first shot scenic shot with “Summit Entertainment presents” on the screen.

#2. ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ by Muse (‘Twilight’ soundtrack)
You can’t hear this song without thinking of vampires playing baseball. Every time I start up the ‘Twilight’ soundtrack or hear this Muse hit on the radio, I can’t help but turn it up!  It plays over one of the most iconic moment in the films and it is the perfect song to play over that moment.

#1. ‘Turning Page’ by Sleeping at Last (‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’ soundtrack)
It’s the music that Bella walks down the aisle to and it’s the song that plays when Edward and Bella consummate their marriage. According to Ryan of ‘Sleeping at Last’ he also wrote it from Edward’s perspective.  The lyrics perfectly define everything that you expect Edward would be felling and could even be a song he wrote. It is beautiful and is my favorite song from the Saga soundtracks.

So now that I shared my favorites, what are your favorite songs from ‘The Twilight Saga’ soundtracks?

Amy is a lifelong fangirl, who gets most excited over The Twilight Saga, Harry Potter, Disney, Star Trek, superhero movies, and Broadway musicals. She’s Twilight fan fiction writer, Esme Mom Cullen, and her work is (mostly) focused on her favorite ship – Carlisle and Esme. She has the sarcasm and wit of a born and raised Jersey Girl, even though she now makes her home in Southern California. She currently works in the areas of communications and corporate social responsibility.

  • Sawsan

My favorite song would be “Turning Page” by Sleeping At Last. After that, I really like “Shooting the Moon” by OK Go and “White Demon Love Song” by Muse and “Friends” by Band of Skulls from the New Moon soundtrack.

Also, I love the song “I didn’t Mean It” by the Belle Brigade. It is so much fun to sing. When I want to hear my high pitched voice even louder, I sing “Cold” by Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz. That song is haunting.

  • Isaura Whitmire

The Editors from the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack for making me yell “Dracula musical!” every time it comes on.

For me my all time favourite song off the soundtrack has to be Paramore Decode because it was the song that introduced me to the Twilight world.
The next one would be Chop and Change by The Black Keys. I love the way it opens Eclipse.
I love Flightless Bird American Mouth both in Twilight and in Breakig Dawn part 2.
