After what seems like an eternity, Zack Snyder’s epic reimagining of Superman, titled Man of Steel, is in theaters! The film stars Henry Cavill in the title role, with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon as General Zod. The film has been reframed as a story about a boy with two fathers searching for his identity, and is dark, gritty, and rooted in reality. It has been getting mixed reviews from critics, but what really matters is YOUR opinion! So, lets discuss! Could you connect with Clark Kent in this film? Was the over-the-top action amazing or too much?

The character of Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster in 1933, when they were high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio. The character was later sold to Detective Comics, Inc. (which is now DC Comics) in 1938.

I, personally, loved Man of Steel. Yes, there were a couple of things I had issues with but overall it was a great Superman movie that I would be happy to go see again. Henry Cavill was a fantastic Superman/Clark Kent and I left the theater feeling warm and fuzzy because of him. Amy Adams as Lois Lane? Not so much. I do like Amy, but Lois Lane is a difficult character to cast (in my opinion) and I just don’t thinks she was the right actress for the job. I think she did well, but not amazing. Sometimes I feel that perhaps it was the script that was holding her back as well as other characters such as our villain General Zod portrayed by Michael Shannon. Sometimes I felt the script was working against them. Other than that the movie was great, I loved the fight scenes, the story and overall really enjoyed the movie! On a side note I TOTALLY GEEKED OUT when I saw “Lexcorp” down the side of one of the buildings in the epic NYC fight scene… did anyone else see it? *eek*

i totally agree with you on amy adams. i just wasnt impressed. she didnt have much development as a character in this film. she just nosy, honestly. and clark kent just made her character better than it actually was, in my opinion. i LOVED the movie, though. so so so good! henry cavill was SUCH a good superman! i live in kansas, so my theater went insane whenever something from kansas was referenced haha
