This is pretty awesome! Demi Lovato has retweeted a fan, who told her that her song Fire Starter needs to be on the Divergent soundtrack. I think this is confirmation that she agrees, don’t you? Back in May I wrote a feature all about how this song matches the series eerily! You can head over HERE to check out my original article.

The initiates, and Demi herself, are catching on! Did you know that Demi has a song on the soundtrack of The Mortal Instruments? It is called ‘Heart by Heart’ and you can listen to it by clicking HERE. Listen to Fire Starter below!

There’s an S under my clothes
On my chest where nobody else can see
I light up when the doors are closed
I am free, yeah

And I wish I could make my move
I can tell that you’re really into me
And I don’t got a thing to lose
In my dreams, in my dreams

I’m a badass, jumping off a moving train
I’m a Jane Bond, putting all them guys to shame
I’m a wild card, and I’m gonna steal your game
You better watch out

I’m a fire starter
Make your blood run faster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
I’m a fire starter
I’m a sweet disaster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

I might look all innocent
But the embers are burning inside of me
And I’m ready to take that step
Can’t you see, can’t you see

I’m a badass jumping off the moving train
I’m a Jane Bond, putting all them guys to shame
I’m a wild card, imma bout to take my aim
You better watch out, watch out

I’m a fire starter, I’m a sweet disaster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
I’m a fire starter, I’m a sweet disaster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah

Up so high, I’m burning up
Kiss your lips, I’m waking up
There’s nothing more to be afraid of

There’s an S under my clothes
On my chest where nobody else can see

I’m a fire starter
Make your blood run faster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
I’m a fire starter, I’m a sweet disaster
I melt hearts like water
Yeah yeah oh yeah yeah
I’m a fire starter

it annoys me when people think if the lyrics match the story then the song has to be on the soundtrack. firestarter does not capture the emotions, atmosphere and the feel of the story- has anyone ever wondered why summit would put a peppy song in a movie where the world is falling a part? demi lovato simply doesn’t fit, I’m thinking more along the lines of florence and the machine, imagine dragons, muse and snow patrol.

I think it would be awesome for the credits!

I’m an extra on the movie and from the background perspective this song has no place in this film

  • Emily

Imagine Dragons would be so kick-ass on there

  • Jenni Martinez

Yeah no not for this movie. Tris doesn’t really have the mentality of this song. She’s unaware of how badass she is.

  • Jenni Martinez

    Totally agree

  • Hidden Divergent

Its a song bout acts of stupidity making you look brave, jumping off a moving train, come on. That’s just on line, how about the rest of the song. What if it was Jump off a moving train to play dress up. would that still count because Tris jumps off a train a couple times, which has no deep meaning to her courage and battles because of her divergence. Bravery is showing courage to overcome fears to complete a task in a smart way, its also about trusting others around you and being selfless and kind. Tirs and Tob…four kept going to this topic and relating it to divergence, and to how the dauntless have forgotten how to be dauntless and are just acting like barbaric idiots.

  • Hidden Divergent

Like someone said before, Imagine Dragons would have been better for the credits, like Radioactive. Its a song about suddenly being in a deadly situation and fighting it to stay safe in any way possible with so many detours to come along, so things can return to peace/get out of the situation to be safe. This sounds more like Tris’ journey then 1 lyric describing how tough you are for jumping off a Train. Something Tris never cared about, or even about was her being better than everyone for train jumping.
Sorry for typos, and my summery, I wrote a good one then my computer didn’t send it and it was gone.

  • Hidden Divergent

its also about thinking your amazing for jumping off a Train, something Tris never cared about. Its also going out of hiding and fighting, another thing Tris avoided (until she could not any longer, well you have to read the book for that ;) )

Did you actually read the books?

  • tbhyolo

Not necessarily IN the movie, but maybe the credits
