Logan Lerman reveals that there won’t be a third ‘Percy Jackson’ movie

March 26, 2014

Logan Lerman revealed to MTV at the press junket for his new film Noah, that there will not be a third Percy Jackson film. He said:

“It’s not happening. It’s been a great experience for me, it’s opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don’t think it’s happening.”

The series has already been made into two films based on the first books of the series chronologically, The Lightening Thief, and Sea of Monsters. The third book, The Titan’s Curse, will unfortunately not see the lights of Hollywood. Does this news disappoint you, or are you happy they are leaving the rest of the series as books? The adaptations of the series by Rick Riordan have mostly been a flop for fans of the original books, since the studio took so many liberties with the material.

What did you think of the Percy Jackson movies?

They should reboot it and make it closer to the books.

They are rebooting everything else. Why not this.

If they do, make it with actual kids at their right age in the series. Just pull a Spider-Man reboot, is what I’m saying. :D

  • James DeBrae

The director of Catching Fire, Francis Lawrence, should redo the movies. He knows how to make films based on books. And the PJO movies were crap.

  • Aaron Sudarma

Totally agree. They should just reboot it and stick it closer to the source material with people who are passionate about them and won’t tear it to shreds with a lousy script.

I think they should wait a while then remake all of them. I don’t think Francis Lawrence should make it though, Catching Fire was good just very different to how Percy Jackson should be and his style might not work.

i think, with books like these, that a summer mini-series would be best. That way they dont have to cut so much from the book, they can be alot more faithful to the book, and there will be room to flesh out the characters. plus hiring the author as a EP or Co-EP would be a good idea, so that RR can go “tsk tsk tsk” whenever they try to screw with his creation.
