In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Shailene Woodley opened up about why she turned down an audition for the controversial adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. She didn’t have anything negative to say, it just came down to the fact that she’s much too busy – and already is working on a franchise!
SHAILENE WOODLEY: “It actually is true. I didn’t want to audition for it. It’s because I had already done ‘Divergent’ and I knew there was no way I wanted to do multiple franchises at the same time, because that’s crazy, so I didn’t see the point in it.”
Fifty Shades of Grey has already been filmed, and it was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. It ended up casting Dakota Johnson (The Social Network) in the role of Anastasia, and Jamie Dornan as Christian. It will hit theaters on Valentines Day, 2015.
