So Quotable: Our favorite quotes from ‘The Fault in Our Stars’

This week friends, we decided to feature some of our favorite quotes from John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars. Today in theaters, only during ‘The Other Woman’ showing, the new trailer of Fault will be released. To celebrate all the ‘feels’ goodness, here’s our So Quotable of the week. The movie stars Ansel Elgort as Gus, Shailene Woodley as Hazel, and Nat Wolff as Isaac. It was directed by Josh Boone, and will hit theaters on June 6th 2014. Are you excited? We’re excited. However, we’ll also be a sobbing mess in the theater!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

1. You Could Be An Ax Murderer

“You should see it,” he said. “V for Vendetta, I mean.”
“Okay,” I said. “I’ll look it up.”
“No. With me. At my house,” he said. “Now.”
I stopped walking. “I hardly know you, Augustus Waters. You could be an ax murderer.”
He nodded. “True enough, Hazel Grace.”

2. It’s A Metaphor

“Oh, my God. Let me just assure you that not being able to breathe? SUCKS…”
“They don’t kill you unless you light them,” he said as Mom arrived at the curb. “And I’ve never lit one. It’s a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do its killing.”
“It’s a metaphor,” he said.

3. I Fell In Love

As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.

4. I’m In Love With You

“I’m in love with you,” he said quietly.
“Augustus,” I said.
“I am,” he said…”I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

5. It Demands To Be Felt

“That’s the thing about pain,” Augustus said, and then glanced back at me. “It demands to be felt.”

6. Our Little Infinity

“I want more numbers for Augustus Waters than he got. But, Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I’m grateful.”

7. My Thoughts Are Stars

But I can’t pull my thoughts together, Van Houten. My thoughts are stars I can’t fathom into constellations.

8. I Like My Choices.

You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man, but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices. I hope she likes her.
I do, Augustus.
I do.
