Four ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoffs are in the works

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones won’t be our last journey into Westeros! Apparently, four spinoff television shows are currently in the works at HBO. They say that the shows will “explore different time periods of George R.R. Martin’s vast universe,” but offer no further details. They also revealed that David Benioff and Dan Weiss will be taking a break after the final season is complete, so they will be refreshed and ready to start writing about Martin’s universe again as creative brainstorming begins on the spinoffs. Currently, there is no set timetable for the projects and they do not have release dates or production start times as of yet. However, we’ll keep you posted!

The seventh season of Game of Thrones will premiere on July 16th, 2017, and the eighth season will be the final season (which will only have six episodes).
