So, this new incarnation of The Mortal Instruments series has been a hit with the target audience, which means we may be seeing Clary and Jace on screen for many more seasons to come. This new development at Freeform solidifies the network’s foray into their new target audience, as they accept their newfound niche of young adults as opposed to their previous younger-skewed “ABC Family” channel name and family-friendly niche. The network’s president, Tom Ascheim, has shared that the Freeform channel will focus on characters who are experiencing the firsts of life (such as first love).
