Lionsgate co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger chatted with ScreenDaily and revealed that the studio is open to continuing The Twilight Saga movies, based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer.
PATRICK WACHSBERGER: “It’s a possibility. Not a certainty but it’s a possibility. It’s about Stephenie [novelist Stephenie Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we’re here for her.”
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hit the big screen in 2012, and concluded the franchise. We all thought it would end there, but we also thought Harry Potter would end with Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and now we’re getting the Fantastic Beasts spinoff. I expect that if Lionsgate does adapt another Twilight story it will be a narrative almost entirely separate from the already well-loved romance between Bella and Edward. What do you all think?
